The Transport, Communications and Information Technology Committee of the Shura Council held yesterday a virtual meeting, chaired by the Chairman of the Committee, Major General Eng. Nasser bin Ghazi Alotaibi, with the participation of Assistant Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Munir Eldesouki and a number of the ministry’s officials.* During the meeting, they reviewed the annual report of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) for the fiscal year 2019.* The meeting also discussed the achievements and plans of the Ministry to develop and increase the coverage of broadband services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; support the needs of government agencies in e-transactions; the most important achievements during the period of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the efforts of the ministry to support the distance education through providing 30,000 tablets and 110,000 sim cards for the students.
