The Committee on Economy and Energy of Shura Council has held a virtual meeting, chaired by the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Faisal Alfadel, to discuss General Authority for Competition annual report for the fiscal year 2019.* During the meeting, the Committee focused on the role that authority plays in protecting and encouraging fair competition and combating monopolistic practices that affect fair competition.* Members of the Committee directed questions and inquiries to Governor of the Authority, covering different aspects in Authority’s annual report.* The discussion also included the effects and results of establishing economic concentration index, and the efforts of the Authority in identifying monopolistic practices during coronavirus pandemic to protect consumers.
