Speaker of Shura Council Receives Russian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh received here today Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sergey Kozlov. The Speaker of the Shura Council stressed the importance of strengthening the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation in various fields, especially at the level of parliamentary relations between the Shura Council and the Russian Parliament, in a way that achieves the interests of the two friendly countries. The Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia delivered a written message from Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko to the Speaker of the Shura Council. The Russian Ambassador highly appreciated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts during its presidency of the G20 that was held in the past period, and its professionalism in leading this important summit, despite the consequences of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) at the local and international level. He pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a country that has a long and great history, a variety of civilizations, and many historical and geographical monuments, and it is the destination of Muslims due to the existence of the Two Holy Mosques. During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues of common interest between the two friendly countries, in a way that strengthens the joint bilateral work between them in various fields. They also reviewed the constructive cooperation relations on the level of bilateral parliamentary work between the Shura Council and the Russian Parliament as well as ways to activate and strengthen these relations in a way that achieves the common interests.
