Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council Meets with the Head of the Women Political Leaders Organization

Her Excellency Dr. Hanan bint Abdul Rahim Al-Ahmadi, Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council, met today, at the Council's headquarters in Riyadh with the President and the Founder of the Women Political Leaders Organization, Ms. Silvana Merrin, accompanied by a delegation of women political leaders, as part of their current visit to the Kingdom to participate in the International Women's Summit in Riyadh.*
At the beginning of the meeting, Her Excellency, welcomed the visiting
delegation, and gave a summary about the oversight and legislative roles of the Shura Council, pointing out the support and empowerment enjoyed by Saudi women in various fields, especially their effective and qualitative participation in the Shura
Council and their active presence in all national fields,and noting the Kingdom's pioneering development achievements and targets of the Kingdom's Vision.*
For her part, the President of the Women Leaders Organization, Ms. Silvana
Merrin, expressed her happiness at visiting the Kingdom, and at the same time her admiration for the achievements and excellence of women in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.*
The meeting was attended by Shura Council members Dr. Reema Al-Yahya, Dr. Sarah Qasim, Dr. Ohoud Al-Shuhail, and Dr. Bushra Al-Hamad. The Women Leaders Organization delegation included Ms. Guedile Liekens, a member of the Belgian Senate and UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador; Ms. Maria Rachel, a member of the Philippine House of Representatives; and Ms. Millie Grace, a member of the Kenyan Parliament.
