Shura Council Holds its 17th Regular Session of the First Year of the Ninth Term with the Attendance of the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services

The Shura Council held its 17th Regular Session of the First Year of the Ninth Term, chaired by His Excellency the Speaker of the Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh, with the participation of His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser.* At the beginning of the session, His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council, on his behalf and on behalf of the officials and members of the Shura Council, welcomed His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and the delegation accompanying His Excellency, expressing his thanks to His Excellency for his attendance and participation to hear from him about what is within the ministry's jurisdiction, and what it aspires to in the future to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030, and to inquire from the members of the Council about the ministry's performance in various fields*. Dr. Al-Sheikh noted the movement and qualitative leap witnessed by the Kingdom's transportation system in all its services and sectors, with the support, guidance and follow-up of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may Allah protect them - in an effort to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.* He stressed that this meeting came out of the Council's desire to contribute to presenting constructive visions and proposals that benefit the transportation sector, the country and the citizen, and for His Excellency to answer inquiries and observations raised by Council members or received from citizens about the tasks of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, its achievements and the challenges facing the Ministry or what is related to its existing or upcoming projects, and other topics that fall within the jurisdiction of the Ministry and the transportation system.* The Speaker of the Shura Council asked Allah Almighty to crown this meeting with the desired results that enhance and contribute to the development of the transportation sector and improve its services in the Kingdom.* After that, His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics delivered a speech before the Council in which he expressed his happiness to attend the Shura Council session to discuss the main transportation files, answer the inquiries of the Council members, listen to their suggestions, and clarify what the Ministry has done in the past stage, and its plans and programs for the next stage.* His Excellency extended his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may Allah protect them - for their generous and unlimited support for service and development projects for the transportation and logistics services system in various regions of the Kingdom, to support economic growth and improve beneficiary satisfaction.* He stressed that his attendance at the Shura Council session and discussion of transportation topics under the Shura dome comes within the framework of fruitful cooperation between the Shura Council and the transportation, services and logistics system, to achieve the interests of the nation and the citizen, and in a way that supports achieving the goals of comprehensive development and the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.* During the session, a number of questions were raised by members of the Council, while the Committee on Transport, Communications and Information Technology raised a number of questions received by the Council from citizens.* The session was attended by His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Acting Chairman of the General Transport Authority, Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services for Road Affairs, Acting CEO of the General Authority of Roads, Eng. Badr bin Abdullah Al-Dulami, His Excellency the President of the Saudi Post Corporation, Eng. Anef bin Ahmed Abanmi, His Excellency the Assistant Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Mr. Ahmed bin Sufyan Al-Hassan, the CEO of the Saudi Railway Company, Dr. Bashar bin Khalid Al-Malik, the Acting President of the General Authority of Ports, Mazen bin Ahmed Al-Turki, the CEO of the National Center for Transport Safety, Captain Tay bin Abdulrahman Al-Shammari, the Advisor to His Excellency the Minister, Dr. Khalid bin Faisal Al-Faram, and a number of ministry officials*. The session was also attended by a number of Shura Council members from previous terms in appreciation of their efforts, and a number of those interested in the transportation system, including Dr. Saad bin Mohammed Marq, former member of the Shura Council and former advisor to His Highness the Emir of Makkah Region, His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Ibrahim, former member of the Shura Council and former faculty member at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Dughaither, former member of the Shura Council and former CEO of Riyadh Development Company, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Sheikh, former faculty member at King Saud University "interested in the field of transportation", Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Sheikh, former Financial Director at King Faisal Specialist Hospital "interested in the field of transportation", Dr. Mona bint Abdullah Al-Mashit, former member of the Shura Council, Professor and Consultant of Gynecology and Women's Health at King Khalid University, His Excellency Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Darrab, former member of the Shura Council and former Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, and Khalid bin Hamad Al-Sulaiman, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Association of Opinion Writers.
